About the Dissertation

Title: "Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) in Veterinary English Education: Methodology, Implementation, and Effectiveness"

Author: Bekniyozova Zarina

Research Period: 2022-2025

Research Objectives

  • To develop a comprehensive CLIL-based curriculum for veterinary English education
  • To evaluate the effectiveness of CLIL methodology in improving both language proficiency and content knowledge
  • To create practical teaching materials and resources for CLIL implementation
  • To assess student learning outcomes and engagement levels
  • To provide methodological recommendations for educators

Research Methodology

The research employed a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data analysis with qualitative observations. The study involved experimental and control groups to measure the effectiveness of CLIL methodology compared to traditional language teaching approaches.

Experimental-Testing Stages

Stage 1: Curriculum Development (Months 1-3)

Development of CLIL-based curriculum modules, lesson plans, and teaching materials. Review of existing literature and best practices.

Stage 2: Pilot Testing (Months 4-5)

Initial implementation with a small group of students. Collection of feedback and refinement of materials and methodology.

Stage 3: Main Experiment (Months 6-10)

Full-scale implementation with experimental and control groups. Regular assessments and data collection throughout the period.

Stage 4: Data Analysis (Months 11-12)

Statistical analysis of learning outcomes, comparison between groups, and qualitative analysis of student feedback and observations.

Stage 5: Results and Recommendations (Months 13-14)

Compilation of findings, development of recommendations, and creation of final resources and materials for educators.

Learning Effectiveness Results

The experimental study demonstrated significant improvements in both language proficiency and content knowledge among students in the CLIL group compared to the control group.
